Parodia This is a large genus comprising about 100 species, which can be found from 1 m. high to most common, 15-30 cm. It is very spread over a wide area ranging from the southern half of South America (Colombia, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay) to the east of the Andes, at an altitude of 3.600.m. This is a genre that draws controversy, since absorbed, among others, gender notocactus is the name given to the tribe (notocacteae).
